The European Leonardo da Vinci programme today is designed to foster a skilled and dynamic work force within the European Union. This programme co-ordinates and funds two main types of training and development for its beneficiaries.
Firstly, it provides opportunities for vocational education professionals (Vocational Education Training Professionals-VETPRO) and/or vocational professionals (people on the labour market - PLM) to develop knowledge through organised exchange projects.
Secondly, it allows students in vocational education and training to undertake temporary transnational training/work placements (Initial Vocational Training – IVT). The latter is the primary project type implemented in Moate Business College.
It allows organisations to work with European partners, in order to exchange practices and increase expertises of students whilst abroad. Essentially it is a European Funded programme that allows students in further education to travel to and work in a European country in order to improve and develop individual's personal, social and professional skills.
The demand for Leonardo da Vinci mobility projects has increased in Moate Business College and indeed in Europe as a whole. Starting with some 37,000 beneficiaries across Europe in 2000, the number has more than doubled to in excess of 84, 500 participants.
Some Important things to know about the Leonardo Project and Moate Business College
