Aims
This course
is practical with emphasis on performance. The course also incorporates engaging and relevant theatre history and theory.
Areas of skill which students develop include concentration, mime, movement, visualisation, improvisation and script work.
At the end of each term all students participate/perform in full scale productions held in Moate's fully equipped theatre Tuar Ard. There is also a project run in conjunction with the art department where the students devise a non plot based movement piece to be shown at the MBC Art Exhibition in May
Certification
On successful completion of the course, candidates who reach the required standard will receive the FETAC National Certificate in Performance Arts.

Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate Standard or equivalent, combined with an interest in performance, drama or dance.
Applications are especially welcome from mature students (over 23 years of age) for whom there are no specific entry requirements.
